…With four (count ‘em: four) free gifts!

Don’t miss the latest issue of Classic Rock and its awe-inspiring cover feature: The 150 Albums You Must Hear Before You Die.

No Led Zeppelin, Beatles or Rolling Stones – this is the connoisseurs’ choice. Handpicked by experts: the REAL best blues rock, prog rock, southern rock, heavy metal, AOR, power pop, punk, industrial, thrash, hair metal, grunge and dub-step* albums ever! (*Just joking about that one.)

Including: Walter Trout writing about the best blues rock albums; Ginger digging up some amazing alt.rock treasures; Steven Wilson taking you through the craziest concept albums and many more.

Plus four sensational free gifts:

1. Let It Rock: a 100-page book containing some of the best rock writing of all time.

2. Exclusive Classic Rock mousemat.

3. Even more exclusive Classic Rock car sticker.

4. 15-track CD of killer cover versions, featuring Buckcherry doing Deep Purple’s Highway Star, Ace Frehley doing Sweet’s Fox On The Run, Mr Big doing The Who’s Baba O’Riley and much more.

Also in the frankly humungous November issue of Classic Rock:

Big Star – In the 70s they were on the wrong planet. Later they were an inspiration to the likes of The Replacements, Wilco and Teenage Fanclub. Now they’re revered. Were Big Star the ultimate power pop band?

Yes – In the space of two years in the early 70s they recorded three albums that helped create and define a whole genre. How did they do that?! “We were pot-smoking hippies and Rick Wakeman was a pub guy. The angle twisted and we went off in a new direction. ”

Wolfmother – It’s four years since these wizards of Oz released their hugely successful debut. Now here they come again with album No.2, bigger and louder than ever.

The Story Behind The Song: Deep Purple – Clashing egos, the band in crisis… Purple frontman Ian Gillan recalls the making of their song Mary Long.

Q&A: Brian Johnson – “I don’t want people to see me on stage and say: ‘Poor old fucker – the band’s carrying him.’” The AC/DC frontman gets a few things off his chest in this month’s Q&A.

Ever Meet Hendrix? Steven Van Zandt – Macca calls him for advice, Freddie King pulled a gun on him, Miles Davis scared him to death… The TV star, radio host and Springsteen’s guitarist sure has some stories.

Rock’s Backpages: Guy Stevens – Charles Shaar Murray’s 1979 profile of Island Records’ rock guru behind Spooky Tooth, Mott and, in that year, The Clash’s London Calling.

All this and more in Classic Rock issue 138, on sale now.
