First and foremost I am a Windows user, but I always envied my cool friends with their sleek ithis or ithat devices. My daughter is an iphone user and has a mac book and I will never forget the look on her face when she first opened her iphone two Christmases ago. Being the dinosaur that I am, I remember going back to the mid-eighties and having spa's with my ex brother-in-law over what technology would win the techno-wars and started off myself in the mid-80's by owning a twin floppy Amstrad. At the time it looked like Gates was winning hands down, but slowly but surely Apple rose from the ashes like a Phoenix, Jobs at the helm.
Every single computer user who is looking at a monitor have him to thank for fonts, for it was he who introduced fonts to the computer - without which we will all still be reading with machine faces, so, like a modern-day Gutenberg he brought fancy type to our screens, which are now called fonts.
The world has lost a great innovator and his name will be in the history books hundreds of years from now.
