Is ripping CD or DVD to mp3 illegal?

Do any of you rip your CD's or DVD's to mp3? I do it so I can listen when I go for a run etc. on my iPod, but the new DRM on DVD's is supposed to prevent this as they want you to buy the music you already paid for again if it's for another device.

Thoughts anyone?

not sure if ur allowed .
if its ur own cd etc why not isay :ninja:
