AC/DC Releases Wine: Smart or just plain silly?

Now that the hoopla surrounding AC/DC’s announcement that they are moving into the wine business by producing their own wine has died down, we look into what might have inspired AC/DC to take this somewhat unusual direction as well as offering a selection of other goodies that might tempt you to part with your hard-earned cash.

There is no doubt that there is a massive market for wine, touted for its healthier properties than other alcoholic beverages, with the red varieties containing tiny amounts of resveratrol, which, taken in enough quantities has been proven to have heart health benefits.

However, this would not be the reason for the AC/DC brand to diversify. Many celebrities have their own wine labels, and it has become somewhat of a trend, a fairly lucrative one at that, particularly down under, with Greg Norman and Olivia Newton John amongst others all getting into it. And talking of down under, the wine is only available for purchase in Australia (for the time being...) and is priced at around $16 a bottle.

Other celebrities include Madonna, The Rolling Stones, Kiss, Motörhead, Nick Faldo, Sam Neill, Dave Matthews, Gerard Depardieu, Johnny Depp in fact, the list is enormous.

Now that our advertising spiel is done with, here are some alternate possible endorsement ideas that AC/DC might consider as additional sources of revenue...
