Back in Black #2 in Aussie top 100 albums book
Rock writers John O'Donnell, Toby Creswell and Craig Mathieson court controversy with their new book titled “The 100 Best Australian Albums”.
The criteria for getting listed does not appear to be based on scientific or recognized means of calculus – however, one thing is for sure: regardless of the writers criteria for inclusion, the list is sure to spark debate and bemusement.
From world renowned acts like AC/DC to the bizarre inclusion of Melbourne unknowns Beaches, it is clear that the list covers everyone from the obscure to the infamous of an era spanning the best part of the last five decades.
The top 10 looks like this:
- Midnight Oil - Diesel and Dust
- AC/DC - Back in Black
- Crowded House – Woodface
- Cold Chisel - Circus Animals

The 100 Best Australian albums is on shelves today, retailing for $56 AUD with an optional 5 CD package available also (I think I’ll pass on the CD this time...)
